Saving One More Life
On November 15, 2012, the Guerriero family lost their almost 16-year-old daughter, Makayla, to suicide. Fourteen years later, The Makayla Fund remains committed to ensuring no other family experiences this heartbreaking loss.
Makayla was athletic, outgoing, vibrant, and loved by many. Like so many families affected by teen suicide, the Guerriero family continues to ask the difficult question:
"Were there warning signs we missed?"
That question drives the mission of The Makayla Fund every day — raising awareness, reducing stigma, and providing individuals, families, and communities with the tools to recognize warning signs and take action before it is too late.
